SkyTrain to UBC--Or Light Rail Everywhere

I saw this over on The Tyee (great work, guys!) and had to post it here. Patrick Condon and his team at the UBC Design Centre for Sustainability crunched the numbers and looked at what you could do in Vancouver with the money projected for the UBC SkyTrain route.

Look at that map--if you were a Vancouver resident, which would you rather have? One line to UBC--or all of those light rail/streetcar lines? What do you think will better serve an aging population, help take cars off the road, and move people efficiently?

I'd love to see those lines spread through the region, of course, but you get the point. The full report from UBC is here.
